The parkland
The Course
Eighteen holes of classic parkland around a 15th-century hall.
Designed by Harry Colt (with James Braid).
Harry Colt designed the course in 1922, built under the club's first professional William Button; James Braid revised holes and switched the nines in 1929 to create the layout in play today. Tree-lined fairways, more than seventy bunkers and finely kept greens reward accuracy over power, with only two par-5s on the card.
