The Club

Woodsome Hall Golf Club, founded in 1922, is a Harry Colt parkland course — later refined by five-time Open champion James Braid — set on the historic Woodsome estate at Fenay Bridge, south of Huddersfield.

Colt laid out the course in 1922 and Braid revised it in 1929, switching the nines to create the classic parkland test in play today: tree-lined fairways, elevated greens and thoughtful bunkering where placement matters more than length.

At its heart stands the Grade I listed hall, dated 1462 — genuinely one of the most remarkable clubhouses in England, and believed to be the oldest original building in use as a golf clubhouse in the world. The on-site Dormy House, 'The Cottage on the Course', sleeps sixteen behind the 7th green, making Woodsome a natural stay-and-play destination.
